Shanghai ICT Programme: Switzerland to Shanghai
This video gives you more information about the Programme and the great experience the group had in Shanghai:
What better way to immerse oneself in IT than to work in Shanghai, China the global epicenter of the industry? That was the incredible opportunity given to 28 IT apprentices and 2 teachers from Switzerland, thanks to the Shanghai ICT Programme.
The Shanghai ICT Project Weeks are organised by a specially formed consortium of the participating cantons Zurich, Lucerne, Zug and Schaffausen in cooperation with Route2China. Non-European mobility projects such as this are rare. Only the best talents are selected by their vocational schools and the professional association to participate.
Each of the ICT apprentices had the exciting experience of working in one of seven different IT startups for three weeks in a co-working enviroment. The apprentices gained valuable skills across the industry, such as Internet of Things, Argumented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain.
In addition to this, each of the apprentices had a chance to immerse themself in the Shanghai culture and live in a vibrant metropolis of technology. A city that is often technologically years ahead of the rest of the world, Shanghai offers a fascinating adventure for those with a passion for IT. By experiencing a different work culture, the apprentices have acquired both a new level of IT skills and valuable work experience, which enables them to return to Switzerland with a global advantage that is of great value to many companies. The Shanghai ICT Programme also establishes international cooperation and relationships which are more important than ever in our globalised society.
